travel details
getting into Porto
We recommend flying into OPO (Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport) in Porto.
Alternatively, you can also fly into LIS (Humberto Delgado Airport) in Lisbon and take a 3.5 hour train.
For our US friends, TAP Portugal and United fly direct to Porto from NYC, while Azores flies direct from Boston on Wednesday. If you cannot fly direct, we recommend flying any EU-based airline to avoid long customs lines upon arrival in Portugal.
For our non-US arrivals, please reach out to us so we can help you find points or cash availability!
NOTE: ESTIAS will be required for US-citizens and other passport holders. Please apply after ticket purchase or confirm authorization status.
date of arrival
While our wedding reception is on Saturday the 24th, we encourage our guests, who are able, to join us beginning Thursday the 22nd. We’ll be hosting various events throughout the weekend and hope attendees can mingle before the big day!
for help, fill out this form!
getting around
The city is mostly walkable (everthing is within a 30-minute walk) and there is some public transport. Utilize the ‘Bolt’ or ‘Uber’ app for farther distances.
There will be shuttles to/from the venue in Landim.
accommodation
The event locations span across the city but the day-of wedding buses will be picking up near Bolhão Market.

q&a
more details to be added
GENERAL
Q: Why don't I get a +1?
A: We’d love to include everyone, but unfortunately our circumstances only allowed us to invite close friends, and we had to make some tough decisions. We appreciate your understanding and really hope to see you there! If you are unsure whether or not you have a +1, please reach out to Celine.
Q: I filled out the Travel Support form, now what?
A: Starting May 2024, we will be tracking points and cash availability for our guests from the airports that were submitted. Based on what we’re seeing, we will be sending emails with various pricing and options as they become available. Ideally we would like confirmed guests to have their flights booked by February 2025. If you have specific needs or questions, please reach out -- we WANT to help.
Q: So... these dress codes. Explain yourself.
A: We are curating the vibes we desire. We want this to be an occasion where you can pull out that linen shirt you never wear or the black romper that’s in the back of your closet. We want to give you an excuse to put on your own fashion show. We want to see what you got! But more importantly, we want you to be comfortable. Have fun interpreting the theme, use Google. If you’re thinking to yourself, “I still have absolutely 0 clue” -- peek at our lookbook or text us.
Q: If I want to give a toast/speech, what’s the protocol?
A: We’ll be hosting an ‘open mic’ on Thursday evening at our Rooftop Event and on Friday during our Welcome Party. The day-of will not include toasts/speeches. If you’re interested in giving one, please reach out to Celine!
Q: I know no one else at the wedding, how do I meet people? How do I get in contact with other guests or hear about informal weekend activities/announcements?
A: We have created a WhatsApp community for our guests to
connect and for us to communicate out information in real-time.
THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Q: What will be included with the events on Thursday and Friday?
A: We want to help facilitate events for our guests to meet each other and explore the city (to enjoy the long weekend!). Guests can reserve a spot at our wine tasting for those who are able to arrive to the weekend early - cost per person not included (36€). On Thursday evening we will also be hosting rooftop drinks with a ‘cash (they take card) bar’. For our Welcome Party, guests will have light bites and beverages provided!
THE CELEBRATION
Q: Is the ceremony and reception venue indoor or outdoors? What is the terrain?
A: The ceremony and apertivo hour will be held outdoors while the dinner and reception will be in a tented cloister. The outdoor portions will be compounded dirt as well as stone. The tented portion will be on grass and stone. We recommend block heels as opposed to stilettos. For the party we recommend bringing a pair of comfy shoes to dance the night away!
Q: What's the food and drink situation?
A: Come hungry (and thirsty)! We will be having an open bar for the entirety of the event. Apertivo hour will consist a large-variety of finger foods and dinner will be a coursed pre-selected menu. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, make sure to include it in the RSVP so we can let our chef know.
Q: Can I take pictures at the ceremony?
A: No - we have hired photographers, videographers, and more so you can live in the moment! The ceremony will be unplugged.
Q: How do I get back to the city after the wedding?
A: We don’t expect you to stay the whole time! We will have a bus running every hour beginning at 11 PM to the Mercado Bolhão area. If you do want to stay until the very end, the last bus is at 4 AM.
DAY-AFTER
Q: What is a cafe meet-up and why should I show up?
A: We know the day after a wedding can be a difficult day 🥴 We’re hoping to gather one last time before the weekend is officially over for an espresso or pastel de nada. Come join us to recap the night before and say your “see you soon!”s.
